If you’ve been waiting for a decent AirPods deal, good news – Amazon currently has discounts on both versions of the Apple AirPods 4 as part of its Spring Deal Days sales event, making this an excellent time to strike if you’re on the hunt for some of the best wireless earbuds.
The standard AirPods 4 – which don’t include active noise cancellation – have dropped to £99, down from their usual £119 price. If you want the more advanced model, the AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation (ANC) are currently £139, reduced from £169.
Unlike the AirPods Pro, the AirPods 4 stick with Apple’s familiar open design rather than silicone ear tips. That means they sit lightly in the ear and feel less intrusive for many people, but it also usually allows more outside noise to seep in.
That’s where the ANC model comes in. Apple has managed to add active noise cancellation to an open-fit design, using microphones and real-time audio processing to reduce background sounds like traffic, trains, or office chatter. It won’t isolate quite as aggressively as sealed earbuds such as the AirPods Pro, but it can still take the edge off noisy environments.
The ANC version also adds Adaptive Audio, which blends noise cancellation and transparency depending on what’s happening around you, along with Transparency mode for letting outside sound through more naturally.
Both versions of the earbuds are powered by Apple’s H2 chip, which enables fast pairing with Apple devices and supports features like Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking. You also get voice isolation for clearer calls, stem controls for playback, and support for Find My if you misplace them.
As for battery life, it’s rated at up to five hours per charge on the standard AirPods 4, while the ANC model drops to around four hours with noise cancellation enabled, with both stretching to around 30 hours in total with the charging case.
If you prefer Apple’s traditional AirPods shape but want something more capable than older models, this AirPods deal could be the perfect time to strike.
