Even more delicate tracks like Agnes Obel’s Riverside came through with impressive space and clarity.

The headphones use 12 microphones alongside Sony’s new QN3 noise-cancelling processor, which Sony says is seven times faster than the previous generation. The result is incredibly effective noise cancelling that can make the outside world almost disappear.
Battery life is strong too, with up to 30 hours of listening with ANC switched on, plus a quick-charge feature that delivers around three hours of playback from just three minutes of charging.
Comfort hasn’t been overlooked either. Weighing 252g with soft earcups and a well-balanced fit, the XM6 remain comfortable enough for long listening sessions at home or on long-haul flights.
