Want to control multiple homes with your single Tado account? Now you can. Here’s how

You’ll find Tado on our list of the best smart thermostats. And if you’ve got multiple properties running on one, there’s good news – you can now use a single account with multiple homes.

Launching this summer, Tado’s new multi-home feature lets you control smart thermostats across up to five different properties from a single account inside the Tado app. That could be your main home, a holiday place, or a secret Warhammer bunker. No judgement here.

If you’re helping manage heating for older relatives, the multi-home feature also makes it easier to monitor and adjust their setup remotely, without them needing to get to grips with the app themselves.

Elsewhere, if you’re paying for Tado’s AI Assist or Auto Assist subscriptions, it gets even smoother – you can switch between properties instantly without signing out. Non-subscribers can still use the feature, but will need to log in and out to move between homes.

Subscription features also include geofencing, which automatically adjusts heating based on your location – dialing things down in one home as you leave, while preparing another ahead of your arrival.

The update also introduces cross-generation compatibility, meaning you can run newer systems like Tado X alongside older V3+ setups, under the same account. You can even mix heating and cooling setups – using Smart AC Control in one property and traditional smart thermostats in another – all from the same interface.

Thankfully, the multi-home feature itself won’t cost extra – it’ll be available to all users when it rolls out this summer.
