The Premier League season kicks off on Friday night and major US streaming service Peacock is now charging more for the privilege of watching the action for the next nine months. Another day, another streaming service price increase!
The NBC Universal-owned platform shows hundreds of games each season – including the Saturday kick-offs unavailable in the UK – as part of the media conglomerate’s exclusive rights to broadcast the EPL. The rest are on free-to-air TV stations like NBC or on cable via USA Network.
Of course, Peacock shows more than Premier League football. There’s NBA, NFL, MLB, College Football and loads of comedies and dramas like The Office, Parks and Rec’, and Law and Order: SVU. The broadcaster says the prices are going up to “allow Peacock to continue to create the best experience for its viewers, remain competitive in the marketplace, and deliver unique content across all genres.” You know, the usual spiel.
The price increases are from $1-$3 for monthly subscribers and between $10 and $30 for annual subscribers. They are expressed below and will be effective of your next billing period:
- A Peacock Select monthly subscription is now $8.99/month (up from $7.99).
