Genesis has unveiled the GV90, its first full-size flagship SUV and it’s a hugely impressive bit of kit. Based on the Genesis Neolun Concept, first revealed back in 2024, the luxury electric car is designed to take on ultra-premium products from Bentley, Maybach and BMW. We’ve had a look-see at both the exterior and interior and the fit, finish and general vibe is next level.

The huge – and at 5.28m long sitting on 24in forged alloys it is huge – Genesis GV90 will be available in two variants: the GV90 Neolun and standard GV90. Both models sit on a dedicated Electric Mobility Prime (eMP) electric platform, which features a beefy 123kWh battery that offers 490kW and 800Nm of torque, feeding dual motors that sends power via a dual electronic limited slip differential powertrain.

A multi-chamber air suspension setup has been designed to make the GV90, which also gets rear wheel steering, about as comfortable as it gets. Range is estimated at over 300 miles, and 350kW fast charger capability should see the GV90 topped up from 10% to 80% in around 22 minutes.

Dominating the imposing-looking GV90 Neolun is the so-called Neolun Arch Gate, first seen on the concept car. It’s a pillarless design that opens to reveal the GV90’s amazing interior. Despite the complex engineering needed to pull off the effect, the SUVs aluminium frame helps retain rigidity. The Genesis GV90 also boasts a 12-airbag system that includes the world’s first roof airbag.

Those beefy electric pillarless doors are hinged at the rear and open in opposite directions to reveal the incredible interior. Genesis has gone all out with the luxury inside, with a semi-aniline leather four-seat lounge-style arrangement aimed at creating an air of opulence. The front seats can be swivelled 180-degrees to complete the ridiculously posh living space effect.

Kit levels are also high-end throughout, with a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system enhanced with Dolby Atmos, Ambient Glow mood lighting, a Smart Vision roof with adjustable transparency and sumptuous massage seats adding to the air of sophistication.

Better still, there’s a pop-up OLED cinematic display that in normal driving conditions sports a 23.6in screen that includes the instrument cluster, navigation and media layout. Once it’s been parked up, the screen can then be deployed upwards out of the dash, turning into an even more impressive 24.6in display with a more multimedia-friendly aspect ratio.

The Genesis GV90 will also feature the Pleos Connect infotainment platform derived from the the Android Automotive Operating System. Occupants will be able to tap into the next-gen generative AI agent, Gleo AI, while the driver can also enjoy the benefits of the Genesis Remote Parking Assist and Memory Reversing Assist options designed to make the bulky GV90 a little more manageable in tight spaces.

The Genesis GV90 will come with a premium price too. It’s expected to start from the $100,000 dollar mark with the four-seat coach-door option likely to be in the region of $150,000 plus. A GV90 Neolun First Edition is also planned, which will add in even more exclusive features not seen in the already very plush standard variants.
