Amazon Prime Big Deals Days are back! It’s really just Amazon’s own version of Black Friday but a month early and follows up on the summer’s Prime Day. Here’s what you need to know and all the best deals I’ve found so far.

As the name suggests, you need to be a Prime member to take advantage of the deals. But if you’re not a Prime member you can just grab a free trial to do this – see above.

Amazon’s set to dish out plenty of deals for this year’s Prime Day. With more than 20 Amazon sales behind me, I’ll be combing through everything that’s on offer and bringing you my top picks.

When are the Amazon Prime Big Deals Days 2025?

The sale will take place on 7th and 8th October. Once again Prime members will take pole position for the deals, with two days to shop hundreds of thousands of deals across a wide selection of products ahead of the holiday season.

Prime Big Deal Days will begin on 7 October in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the U.S. and the UK. Plus, for the first time, Colombia, Ireland and Mexico.

Some early deals are already starting to pop up. Amazon says the deals will give you savings of up to 40% “across all categories including home, kitchen, electronics, toys, fashion, and beauty and self-care”.

We usually see excellent discounts on gear that’s not normally discounted, including Apple’s AirPods, the Apple Watch and also top-end gear such as the Sony WH1000-XM6 headphones.

Why do you need to be a Prime member?

As we mentioned, you need to be a Prime member to take advantage of the Prime Day deals. That’s because it’s really like a loyalty programme for Amazon. Plus it wants to encourage you to sign up in the first place. Don’t let that put you off, though, because Prime is a rather good deal regardless of Prime Day, and you can easily get a 30-day free trial for Prime if you’ve never used it before. After the trial, it’ll set you back $139 for the year, or $14.99 a month, but you can cancel the trial at any time, of course.

Prime offers you plenty aside from next-day delivery. it gives you full access to its Amazon Prime Instant Video service (you’ll find our own lovingly curated, and constantly updated, list of the best films and TV shows to watch on Prime Video here), but also includes Prime Music and the Kindle Lending Library, plus unlimited one-day delivery from Amazon’s humongous online marketplace.

The best deals are known as Spotlight deals, which will usually be available in a limited quantity, with Lightning Deals sitting alongside them, which will last for just six hours. With both of these, you’ll want to be quick if you like what you see.

How to get the best Prime Day Big Deals Days savings

It’s not unusual to see better deals on Prime Day Big Deals Days than Black Friday and there are always some tasty offers about. However, there’s a lot of other, not-so-good deals. So we’re always on hand to curate the top deals, enabling you to safely ignore the other rubbish. Getting to the good stuff sadly means sifting through naff deals.

Top deals can tempt, but if you have a shopping list of products you want to get during Prime Day, doing a bit of research ahead of time means the deals you’ll go for are worth the cash.

The savings stated might also be based on the original selling price rather than what it sells for on the site normally. If you’ve got your eye on something, it could be worth finding out its price now, so you know just how much of a deal it really is, or you can use a tool like CamelCamelCamel to see what the previous price was.

Those that are genuine deals – and there are plenty of them – are likely to be snapped up quickly, so be ready to start clicking as soon as they’re live.
