Apple Music is following Spotify’s lead by testing an AI playlist creation feature in the first iOS 26.4 beta developer beta, revealed on Tuesday. The feature enables users to fashion a new playlist based on a text prompt expressing the required vibe. There are also preset ideas you can select. Users can refine their playlist with further prompts, or manually add/delete/reorder songs. The feature might be useful for people who find the human-curated Apple Music playlists aren’t quite fulfilling their needs in certain scenarios. It will enable listeners to get much more specific about what they want to hear, for…

I love creating playlists, particularly for specific occasions. My viking chant/Mongolian throat singing gym mix has got me through some tough times. But sometimes it’s nice to let someone else take over, which is why I’ve recently been leaning on Spotify’s AI-powered DJ more often. And soon, Apple Music users will have a new outlet for inspiration too. Spotted in the iOS 26.4 developer beta by MacRumors, a new feature called Playlist Playground will let you generate a full Apple Music playlist using nothing more than a short text prompt. Type in something like “morning coffee music”, “hip-hop party songs”,…

For almost as long as phones have been around, people have wanted those phones to also be laptops. It seems so simple: Your phone has plenty of computing power, access to all your apps and data, an always-on connection. The only problem? Your phone’s screen is too small for many tasks, and so is its keyboard. Or at least, they were, until foldable phones made it possible to carry a truly gigantic screen in your pocket. Now all bets are off. After that, it’s time for an update on the world of sports streaming. Sportico’s Jacob Feldman joins the show to…

Gozney has launched a new compact pizza oven called the Arc Lite, designed to deliver its signature restaurant-level performance in a smaller, lighter package. It’s aimed squarely at people cooking on balconies, rooftops, or smaller gardens – without sacrificing the heat and flame control the brand is known for. The Arc Lite can hit 950°F / 500°C, which is the sweet spot for proper Neapolitan-style pizza, and it’s sized to cook pizzas up to 12in across. The heat comes from Gozney’s lateral rolling flame, a clever burner design that wraps heat around the food instead of blasting it from one…

I’m sure old farts like me increasingly bang on about peak Apple. The good old days that followed the very, very bad old days when it felt like the company might wink out of existence entirely. But Steve Jobs returned and the hits kept coming. iMac. iPod. iPhone. iPad. Apple was a hardware company making fantastic hardware. But to make people want to use it, Apple made great software too – and obsessed over the details. Sure, there were flubs, and you’d need to be spectacularly naive to think Apple didn’t also care about money. This was, after all, a company that needed an awkward cash…

The European Union has opened a formal investigation into Shein after French regulators found listings for “child-like sex dolls” on the retail platform last year. The investigation will assess whether the systems Shein is using to curb illegal product sales are compliant with the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA), according to the European Commission, including “content which could constitute child sexual abuse material.”The commission will also examine the transparency of Shein’s content recommendation systems, and concerns regarding the retailer’s “addictive design,” including gamified programmes that give points and other rewards to shoppers.“In the EU, illegal products are prohibited – whether…

If your iPhone was stolen and a thief knew your passcode, they could potentially change your Apple ID password, wipe your device, and lock you out. That’s exactly the scenario Apple designed Stolen Device Protection to prevent – and from iOS 26.4 onwards (aka the next iPhone update), it’ll be automatically switched on for everyone. Spotted in the developer beta by MacRumors, Apple is enabling Stolen Device Protection by default, rather than requiring users to turn it on manually in the settings. It’s a small change on paper, but it could be a meaningful one if your trusty iPhone is…

For years, Motorola has flirted with the premium end of the smartphone market. It’s made beautiful devices, experimented with bold materials, and delivered strong cameras. But it’s rarely planted a clear flag in true ultra-premium territory – the kind dominated by Apple and Samsung. The Motorola Signature is meant to change that. This isn’t just another flagship. It’s the debut of an entirely new ‘Signature’ series, positioned as Motorola’s most refined and complete phone yet. The promises are big: four 50MP cameras, DXOMARK-recognised imaging excellence, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, a huge battery in a sub-7mm body, and seven…
