On Tuesday, Apple will announce its latest upcoming smartphone series, before releasing it into the world the week after. There have been plenty of rumors about what to expect from the iPhone 17 series. And every time there’s some confusion around about what exactly each model brings to the party. So let’s look at the differences between the iPhone 17 range, which at this stage we think consists of iPhone 17 and the super-thin and new model of the iPhone 17 Air at the more standard end. After that, it looks like there will be the more standard introduction of the…

The European Commission has waged a €2.95 billion (~$3.5 billion) fine against Google for “abusing its dominant position” in advertising technology. Lenovo’s first handheld console, the Legion Go, was a solid first release. It had a lot going for it, including a stunning display and detachable controllers, but buggy software often got in the way of a good time. We scored it three stars out of five in our review. So the Legion Go 2 really caught our attention when it was unveiled at CES earlier this year. At first glance, it doesn’t scream “new.” The chassis is familiar, the screen’s still a whopping 8.8 inches, and the controllers are still detachable. Now, we’ve taken a closer look at the console…

If you want to stay alert while running or biking, the Nothing Ear Open are a worthwhile alternative to classic in-ear cans. That’s because the company’s first pair of open-style earbuds — which are now on sale at Nothing’s online storefront or Amazon for an all-time low $99 ($50 off) with a Prime membership — let you listen to music and podcasts while keeping tabs on traffic, pedestrians, and other potential hazards.Nothing’s water-resistant earbuds use an over-the-ear hook to help them sit firmly in place, allowing them to securely rest just inside your ear instead of directly within the canal…

I’ve been using an iPhone for the longest time, and Android devices have never been able to tear me away. But there’s one thing it’s never quite nailed – bright lights and reflections. While the latest iPhone 16 Pro Max gets absurdly bright, it can’t always overcome reflections. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra has a matte coating that helps, but it doesn’t do anything for eye comfort. That’s why TCL’s latest colour e-ink smartphone caught my attention. The TCL NxtPaper 60 Ultra is the first handset in the NxtPaper that offers decent levels of performance. Its colour e-ink screen gets super…

Elon Musk could become the world’s first trillionaire if Tesla shareholders approve a new pay package that was just put forward by the company’s board.Musk would need to meet certain milestones in order to receive that eye-popping compensation, such as producing 1 million robotaxis and 1 million humanoid robots, as well as increase Tesla’s valuation by trillions of dollars. Musk, already the world’s richest man, would ascend to new heights of financial untouchability if he is able to achieve these goals. The proposal builds on an interim award of $29 billion that was announced last month. In total, the package is…

I’ve been thinking ahead to Apple’s big event next Tuesday. I’ll be sitting in Apple’s Steve Jobs theater, ready to live blog. Tim Cook will pop out for a brief moment to wave hello. I’ll probably nod to my colleagues in the theater with me — we’ve already sussed out the game plan. My ears will be perked for the Apple Watch announcements, because that’s my beat. Paradoxically, that’s where this visualization exercise leaves me stumped. After a decade of Apple Watches, I’m struggling to envision what would make the world’s most iconic smartwatch better. You could argue that the Apple…

I wrote that no one should buy MSI and Intel’s original handheld gaming PC. I literally called it an embarrassment, and the company blacklisted me after that. MSI stopped pitching me news, and stopped answering my emails, even after the company began to write off its dud of a handheld. So you can imagine my surprise to find: MSI and Intel have gone from worst to nearly first. In many games, it’s twice as fast as the original Claw. And with new drivers that bump its performance up to 30 percent higher since launch — I tested — the newer $1,000…

Noise cancelling king Bose has levelled up its flagship over-ear headphones in a bunch of ways for its second iteration. The Quietcomfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) gains lossless wired listening, an audio re-tune, and longer battery life – but it’s the new automatic startup I can see being a real winner for frequent flyers already enamoured with the firm’s impeccable ANC. Beyond improving wear detection (which could be a bit flakey on the original Quietcomfort Ultra Headphones), Bose has adapted the sensors for an auto-on feature that that powers up and connects the headphones to your paired device automatically, saving…
