Lenovo is throwing ideas at the wall with new modular accessories for the magnetic Magic Bay connector of its ThinkBook 16P Gen 6 laptop. The company announced at Mobile World Congress four different proof-of-concept add-ons that may or may never be released, and they’re as cool as they are quirky:There aren’t many details on the concepts, though the 2nd Display and Dual Screen are the most straightforward. They’re meant for people who want a mobile multi-monitor setup that doesn’t require a secondary device to plug in or keep charged. The 2nd Display is like attaching an 8-inch iPad Mini to…

Lenovo has another funky experiment it’s announcing at Mobile World Congress: the ThinkBook “codename Flip” AI PC Concept. It’s a productivity / business laptop with a flexible display, allowing it to be used as a traditional 13.1-inch clamshell, a folded-up 12.9-inch tablet, or a laptop with an extra-tall 18.1-inch vertical screen. The ThinkBook Flip uses the same exact OLED panel as the $3,500 ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 that’s expected to arrive sometime in June — only here, it’s set up to fold behind the main portion of the screen instead of extend out from underneath it. That means there are no…

Chinese phone brand Infinix is known to show off a flashy concept, and at this year’s MWC the company is looking skyward for inspiration. It’s showing a phone with an integrated solar panel on the back, as well as a solar charging phone case. They’re both in the concept phase, but the demo units I saw at MWC were functional and the idea is plenty appealing.Infinix calls this SolarEnergy-Reserving technology, and it uses perovskite solar cells like Anker’s beach umbrella and cloak concept. These cells are thinner and cheaper to produce than traditional silicon solar cells. That’s paired with a…

In a pair of social media posts today, President Donald Trump named some cryptocurrencies he says will be part of a Crypto Strategic Reserve being created by an executive order he signed in January. Those include Bitcoin and Ether, which he says “will be the heart of the Reserve.”Under Trump, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has quickly backed away from the wary stance toward cryptocurrencies it held prior to Trump’s inauguration this year. Officials at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Friday ordered staff “to begin finding tens of millions of dollars for a Starlink deal” to upgrade air traffic control communications, anonymous sources have told Rolling Stone. Long-term ownership has long been an Android stumbling block, but the future is suddenly looking brighter for anyone with an Honor phone in their pocket. The firm has committed to seven years of software support for its flagships going forward, leapfrogging most of its major rivals in the process. The move makes it easier than ever to recommend one of the best phones I’ve tested in 2025 so far. When I reviewed it back in January, the Honor Magic 7 Pro was set to get four major OS upgrades and five years of security patches. Now the brand has extended…

Apple Intelligence was supposed to finally deliver a more natural version of Siri, but now, people who work in Apple’s AI department believe the company won’t release a ”true modernized, conversational version of Siri … until iOS 20 at best in 2027,“ writes Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in today’s Power On newsletter.Apple is expected to roll out an LLM-powered Siri upgrade in iOS 18.5, but Gurman says this will work as its own separate model from the old Siri, a system that “doesn’t work as smoothly as it could.” According to Gurman, the modernized Siri would merge the two into a…

The mobile world has been amped up about AI for a few years now, but even the smartest virtual assistants have so far had a one-track mind. Honor is looking to change that, with a little help from friends Google and Qualcomm, in an upcoming phone that’ll truly understand context. The firm demoed an AI agent at Mobile World Congress that can cross-reference your diary and travel times before booking a restaurant reservation. It can plug into third-party apps and services, so you’re not restricted to a few bits of first-party software. Honor is also hoping to open out development…

Xiaomi’s latest mainstream flagship phone has finally made its way beyond China and into global markets. While not exactly a surprise, the Xiaomi 15 is still a big deal for anyone chasing the best phone that isn’t a palm-stretching colossus. This slinky handset doesn’t skimp on battery life, performance, or camera tech. In fact, it’s swaying me away from the Galaxy S25 and Pixel 9 Pro. This one’s for those who hate having to choose between pocket-friendly size and battery life. The Xiaomi 15 packs a 5240mAh battery into its slender 6.36in frame, thanks to Xiaomi’s clever silicon-carbon chemistry. That…
