On Monday, the DOJ and Google both filed requests for remedying the tech giant’s legally declared ad-tech monopoly. The DOJ plan proposes having Google sell two major pieces of its business: its Ad Exchange (AdX) and its ad management platform DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP), which is now called Google Ad Manager. Google, which plans to appeal the original verdict, asks the court to require targeted changes in certain business practices while leaving the company intact. The DOJ’s AdX sale pitch cites the court’s April ruling that AdX made it “more difficult for customers on both sides of the ad exchange market…

There aren’t too many Bluetooth speakers I’d go as far to call ‘iconic’, but the Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1 is one of ’em. The lavish little music box is now back for a third generation, with brawnier bass and a longer-lasting battery. B&O has also stepped things up on the repairability side, too. The 3rd-gen Beosound A1 is the firm’s third style collab with Danish industrial designer Cecilie Manz, though the styling tweaks have largely focused on the waterproof leather wrist strap’s metal lock and the colour options. It still looks every bit the forbidden burger bun, with 2,173…

When Ford poached Doug Field from Apple in 2021, the company had high hopes for the mild-mannered engineer. Field would lead the charge on developing “the next-gen Blue Oval Intelligence tech stack to deliver smart, connected vehicles, and services that improve over time through constant updates,” it said in the release. Now, as Ford grapples with stagnant EV sales and project delays, Field is wrestling with the challenge of how to enact that bold vision of the future, given the harsh realities of the present. At the time of his hire, the only car company with a snappy, seamless, and…

Last week, OpenAI pulled a GPT-4o update that made ChatGPT “overly flattering or agreeable” — and now it has explained what exactly went wrong. In a blog post published on Friday, OpenAI said its efforts to “better incorporate user feedback, memory, and fresher data” could have partly led to “tipping the scales on sycophancy.”In recent weeks, users have noticed that ChatGPT seemed to constantly agree with them, even in potentially harmful situations. The effect of this can be seen in a report by Rolling Stone about people who say their loved ones believe they have “awakened” ChatGPT bots that support…

DJI hasn’t even announced a 360-degree camera yet, but the DJI Osmo 360 has now spilled its guts all over the web. Leakers Hakasushi and Igor Bogdanov have published over a dozen pictures of a prototype dual-lens camera, including both external and internal photos and images of its Quick Start Guide. And it appears that DJI may have chosen quite a small, squareish design, instead of the more elongated stick shapes of its Insta360 rival. As you can see above, it’s roughly 6.5 centimeters (2.6in) wide and maybe 9mm tall. While we don’t have much in the way of all-important specs like…

These are my top picks if you’re looking for the best: a…
