HP Eliteboard G1a is a compact PC with a twist – it’s built into the keyboard

HP has announced the HP Eliteboard G1a, which houses an entire PC within a keyboard, and is putting it on show at CES 2026. The Eliteboard G1a includes an AMD Krackan Point generation processor, headlined by a capable (but not mind-blowing) Ryzen AI 7 370 Pro chip.

That processor is powerful enough to connect to one or two displays (up to 4K via daisy chain connection) via USB-C, while there’s an included Bluetooth mouse. For security, the keyboard has a fingerprint sensor.

Inside you’ve got the requisite storage, stereo speakers, RAM, and a host of port options that’ll help you be as flexible as you would with a Mac mini except here you need one less accessory because the comfortable-looking keyboard is built-in. It can be shipped with a built-in or detachable USB-C cable for connection to the monitor, like the HP Series 5 Pro 14-inch Portable Display.

Furthermore, it can be more flexible as it can be fitted with a user-replaceable 32Wh battery that’ll keep users going for up to 3.5 hours. Max storage is 2TB and there’s up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM.

HP is yet to confirm pricing for the Eliteboard G1a, which is available in March. It isn’t the first time we’ve seen this form factor, as the Raspberry Pi 500 has been an option for a while. However, if you’re in the market for a Windows 11 device that can act as a desktop PC that’s powerful enough for most office productivity tasks, that can also cope without ready access to power then it might be the device for you.

We’ll bring you more news on the price when HP announces it.
