Samsung is working on a new design for the next-generation Galaxy SmartTag bluetooth tracker that might be more reminiscent of Apple’s AirTag than previous versions of its own product.
According to leaked designs published by SamMobile, the company is abandoning the pill-shaped design with the massive lanyard hole, in favour of a squircle with no hole at all – just like the AirTag.
We wouldn’t be offended by the change of shape. And for those who just like to throw a tracker in a bag or suitcase, the loss of the hole wouldn’t be the biggest deal. However, attaching to keys and other portable items would now require the purchase of a case…
