Tesla is recalling more than 20,000 cars because their headlights are too bright. The recall covers certain Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. It comes after US safety regulators found the low beams pump out more light than federal law allows.

It sounds like a small technicality but it’s actually not – bright, badly angled headlights dazzle oncoming drivers. They make it harder to judge distances at night, and, in the worst case scenario, that’s a recipe for a crash.

It’s worth noting, however, that no crashes, injuries or deaths have been linked to the issue so far.
