The new and upcoming gaming hardware from Gamescom 2026 that I’d spend my money on

There might not be a new console on the horizon soon, and price hikes for those already out, but Gamescom 2026 was still the destination for getting hands on with the latest gear for enhancing your current gaming setup, whether you’re gaming on PC, console, mobile, or into new ways to revisit the past.

Here then are my highlights of gaming hardware from Gamescom 2026, some which are already available to buy now or coming very soon, just in time to get the Christmas stocking filled.

Evercade Nexus

$199/£170, on sale October 30

I might’ve lied about there being no new console, though in this case the Evercade Nexus is Blaze Entertainment’s latest iteration of retro handhelds where you can play officially licensed emulated classics available as physical cartridges. In other words, it’s the defiant opposite of Sony’s current stance of killing off physical discs and acfuture where you never truly own the games you buy.

While predecessors were designed with playing 8-bit and 16-bit games, the Nexus is built to accommodate 3D games from the 32-bit and 64-bit era, introducing twin analogue sticks and a bright 5.89-inch IFS screen that complements colourful 3D games like Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, which are included as a double-pack cartridge. Obviously, the rest of your Evercade cartridge collection is playable too but the experience is also elevated, like the ability to turn the screen on its side to play vertical shooters in Tate mode, as well as a new EverSync to play multiplayer games with another Nexus user where only one person has to own the game.

Stage Tour + Wireless Kramer Guitar

Stage Tour Krame Guitar Controller

From $130/£120, on sale December 10

This isn’t just a new controller but for a new game for a genre some thought was all washed up. Stage Tour is a new rhythm-action game following in the footsteps of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and though those franchises staged a shortlived comeback just over a decade ago, this one’s been designed for a new generation.

The primary base package gets you the game along with the officially licensed Kramer guitar controller. These plastic axes have come a long way as this new model uses a Hall Effect click strum bar that’s both responsive and durable, while promising ultra-low latency whether playing with a wireless dongle or connecting with Bluetooth. It also has a modular design making parts easily replaceable without having replacing the controller wholesale.

If you want to get the whole band back together, the game is also playable with drums and vocals, so you can also splash out on bundles that include a wireless microphone and drum controllers, with the pricey pro band kit getting you three cymbals and a second kick pedal for the latter.

Beyerdynamic MMX 100 and 130 wireless headsets

Beyerdynamic MMX 130 Wireless Headset

From $150/£89, on sale October (MMX 130) / out now (MMX 100)

Supporting all the gaming stations at Gamescom 2026’s Indie Arena booth, Beyerdynamic introduced two new wireless headsets, which while providing the same frequency and long battery life, differ depending on your gaming preference.

The closed-back MMX 100 is for those who want total focus on their game with no ambient noise distractions, whereas the open-back MMX 130 (pictured) is for those who want to drink in the atmosphere and ambience of a large open world game, though it’s also the pricer option at £130. Both also support wireless via dongle or Bluetooth, or wired if preferred, while soft velour earpads guarantees long-lasting comfort.

Turtle Beach Command Series KB7 Keyboard

Turtle Beach KB7 Keyboard + Keypad

From $200/£190, on sale now

Where Hall Effect technology has been used for thumbsticks and triggers, they’re also now being applied to keyboards for even greater durability. But the highlight from this TKL hall effect keyboard is aerguably its 4.3-inch command touch display to the right, allowing for a range of customisation, including built-in OBS and Streamlabs integration for streamers, as well as switch profiles, trigger macros, and shortcuts for apps.

While the TKL form factor is for those who prefer a more compact layout, it’s also possible to add a modular keypad for £90, which while works as standalone, thanks to a thumb bar, wheel and macro buttons, mounts to the side of the KB7 keyboard – not just to the right but also the left.

Turtle Beach Command Series MC7 Wireless Mouse

Turtle Beach MC7 Wireless Mouse

From $150/£140, on sale now

This new premium wireless mouse follows a similar design to the KB7 as it also has a command touch screen, giving you quick access to control over gaming, streaming and productivity literally at your fingertip. Its hot-swappable batteries, each lasting up to 10 hours also ensures zero downtime as a wireless mouse, although wired connection is still an option.

There’s also more affordable options, such as the MC5, which doesn’t include the 2.25-inch command display, or the wired MC3, though all still incorporate similar design, including 29 programmable inputs and an adaptive 4D scroll wheel.

Razer Prio

Razer Prio Mobile Controller

$100/£100, on sale now

Although Razer set the bar on mobile controllers with the Kishi, it’s launched an ultra-portable alternative that folds down to the size of a credit card that can easily fit into your backpocket. While it may take a few tries to get used to the twisting motion for opening and folding it back in, the Prio has all the console-grade layout of buttons, sticks and triggers you expect that’s instantly compatible with iPhone (iOS 18) Android (14 or later). It’s the perfect companion for making commutes and long queues fly by.

Pacific Skyline Wireless Controller for Xbox and PC

Xbox Pacific Skyline Controller

From $90/£80, on sale now

Personally, I’ve never been one for the modern gamer’s love for RGB. And yet there’s something really nifty about this Xbox controller, which already has an appealing Pacific Coast-inspired soft-tone aesthetic. But switch on its RGB lighting and it also illuminates the skyline’s outlines, giving an oh-so-neon city vibe. It definitely feels like a controller that would be right at home with the upcoming release of GTA 6. Rounding this off are also premium TMR thumbsticks as well as mappable back buttons for customising your playstyle.

Hyperkin SupaBoy

Hyperkin SupaBoy Crimson

From $120/£120, on sale Fall 2026

Reminiscent of Sega’s Genesis Nomad sold exclusively in the US, the SupaBoy is the same idea of slotting in SNES cartridges to play on a handheld device. The obvious differences is that this is compatible with both PAL and NTSC cartridges, while it also won’t guzzle AA batteries, as this has a built-in rechargeable battery that can last up to 10 hours of playtime.

While it’s unclear why its 4.3in display is widescreen when SNES games were all in 4:3 aspect ratio (and you really don’t want to be stretching those beautiful pixels), it’s a sturdy thing that can even stand up on its own if you want to plug in two SNES controllers at the front for two-player action. Marking its debut in Europe for the first time, you can get the SupaBoy in Famicom-inspired Crimson (pictured) or the Prime version that takes inspiration from the PAL SNES and Japanese Super Famicom colours.
