Vacheron Constantin has a new Overseas watch to celebrate the collection’s 30th anniversary. It’s the Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, and it comes in a beautiful new azure dial colour.
That azure dial is paired with an 18K white gold case, a combination, the brand says, that hasn’t offered on this model before.
It measures 41.5mm across and just 8.1mm thick, which is incredibly slim for a perpetual calendar.
Credit goes to the movement. The Calibre 1120 QP/1 is only 4.05mm thick. It’s self-winding, with a power reserve of around 40 hours.
Inside are 276 components and 36 jewels. The movement also carries the Geneva Seal.
What is a perpetual calendar? Well, if you have read Stuff’s guide to watch complications, you’ll know it knows which month have 28, 30 and 31 days, plus leap years, and Vacheron says it won’t need adjusting until 2100 (which isn’t a leap year).
The dial is the main talking point here – Vacheron Constantin introduced an azure Overseas dial back in 2016, and it became a fan favourite. This one is lighter, less intense and less saturated.
I really like the change. This feels airy, light, and goes perfectly with the white gold case.
Vacheron says the shade shifts with the light. The moon phase disc matches the dial, while the white gold markers and calendar displays keep everything easy to read.
Flip the watch over and you’ll see the finishing on the movement – there’s Côtes de Genève, bevelling and perlage. The 22K gold rotor is engraved with a compass rose, a nod to the Overseas spirit of travel.
The white gold bracelet has a micro-adjust clasp, and you get two rubber straps, one white and one denim blue, in the box as well.
You can swap between the three without tools, and each rubber strap has its own white gold pin buckle. That quick-change system has been an Overseas highlight since the third generation arrived in 2016.
Water resistance is 5 bar, or around 50 metres.

The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin is limited to just 200 pieces and is priced at US$132,000 / £119,000.
