DJI just supercharged the Osmo 360 II with its best-ever 8K/60fps video, better low-light shooting, and more

Mention DJI, and there’s a good chance you still think of drones. But at IFA 2026, it wants to change that by launching a new 360 camera, robot vacuum, and balcony solar system. In Europe, at least.

US readers may have to admire some of them from afar. These are European debuts, and DJI hasn’t announced US launches for all products. DJI is also challenging FCC restrictions that now cover its communications and video-surveillance equipment, introduced as part of a broader national-security crackdown on certain foreign-made drones and related technology.

That little disclaimer aside, here’s everything worth knowing about DJI’s latest announcements…

DJI Osmo 360 II

Where to start? Well, the Osmo 360 II adds up to 14.5 stops of dynamic range, up from 13.5 stops on the original, which should help it retain more detail in bright skies and darker shadows. It also uses a pair of 1/1.1in square CMOS sensors, while AI SuperNight 2.0 is designed to improve low-light footage.

There’s also a new Spotlight Follow mode that can automatically track a subject in 360-degree footage, before exporting a conventional 4K video afterwards. It can shoot 4K video at up to 240fps too, while its 120MP panoramic stills now support HDR.

One of the most practical upgrades though, is the lenses. Both are now more scratch-resistant and user-replaceable if one gets damaged, rather than requiring a trip back to DJI. Anyone who’s used a 360 camera will know how exposed those bulbous bits of glass are, so it’s a very welcome step in the right direction.

You also get 105GB of built-in storage, and up to 100 minutes of continuous 8K/30fps recording, rising to as much as 120 minutes in Endurance Mode. The camera is waterproof to 10m on its own, or 50m with DJI’s optional waterproof case.

There are some smaller quality-of-life upgrades too, including NFC Quick Connect for faster pairing with the DJI Mimo app, and a dual-direction quick-release mount. DJI also supports 10-bit colour and D-Log M for anyone who wants more flexibility when grading footage afterwards. European pricing and availability haven’t been announced as part of DJI’s IFA preview yet.

Romo 2 and DJI Power

The Romo 2 is the company’s second-generation robot vacuum range (the debut model can be seen above), and while DJI hasn’t revealed many details in its IFA announcement, a bit of digging through its Home app listing turns up a few clues.

It mentions dirt-type detection that can adjust the cleaning strategy, improved threshold detection, and Matter support, with some features specifically tied to the P2 and A2 models. It’s not a formal European launch spec sheet, though, so those details are best treated as a preview for now.

The company is also pushing further into home energy. Its existing Power 2000 combines a 2048Wh battery with up to 3000W of continuous output and can be expanded with additional batteries to around 22.5kWh.

In supported European markets, it can already work with balcony solar and feed excess electricity back into the grid. The Power 2000 is already officially sold in the US for $1299.

We’re looking forward to seeing them all properly in person – especially the Osmo 360 II, which already looks like a fairly substantial update. Stay tuned.
