Dyson’s robot vacs just got a lot more accessible with the Nurovi series – here’s what you need to know

Following on from its long-awaited reveal of the $500/£420 Dyson CameraJet electric toothbrush a couple of days ago, Dyson has now launched a raft of other new products. These include three new robot vacuums to follow up on last year’s Spot+Scrub AI.

The key thing is that there are two new wet and dry models as well as a vac-only model and they are available at various price points instead of all being over $1000.

Dyson’s new flagship is the R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV (the name is a nod to the neural intelligence used). This betters last year’s model by using UV light to identify nearly 200 types of household substances. As with the previous Spot+Scrub, this will repeat clean dried-in stains until they go. We don’t yet have pricing for this model, which will be available in early 2027 but expect it to be north of the $850/£800 of the current model.

The £750 R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry features triangle cleaning pads and again is wet and dry. Typically thought through by Dyson engineers, these have curved edges (the Reuleaux triangle shape)so they can reach into corners. The design of the dock only has two cylinders on it. Like the R3, it stores clean water, grey water and vacuum debris but there’s just less capacity.

This model also features Dyson’s new ‘twin-capture’ system, which works to separate fine and coarse debris; bristles on the brush bar mechanically sweep larger debris directly into the machine, reducing reliance on suction power. The motor then works on the smaller particles.

Finally, the £500 R1 Nurovi Dry has a single cylinder bin in the dock – this is a dry vacuum only.

Elsewhere, Dyson has also reengineered the super-thin PencilWash, now known as the £300 W1 – there’s now a more absorbent roller, hygienic waste system and self-cleaning dock which should be a big improvement.

Dyson has also reengineered its larger fans with a new shape to increase airflow and reduce noise – the £900 HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde air purifier is joined by a smaller version and a Hot+Cool equivalent which will also heat – both are £550.

“We’ve always been very focused on the mechanical engineering of a product, spending decades honing the physical way that each machine performs,” says Jake Dyson. “Now we have shifted from purely mechanical devices to intelligent machines that can see, think, and respond. We’re using artificial intelligence, vision systems and machine learning to allow the machines to understand the environment they are operating in. The approach is the same, whether it’s operating in your mouth, on your hair or around your home.”

Dyson also launched some additional personal care products – the Dyson Corrale Coolshine straightener which improves on the Corrale’s straightening technology. Plus there’s also the Dyson Airsmooth, featuring patented dual-bristle technology to dry, lift and smooth with ease.
