Gemini in Chrome. Google is stepping things up in the AI agent browser wars. The company is launching a suite of new features deeply embedding Gemini into Chrome. That starts with the announcement that Gemini in Chrome will no longer require a membership fee and will begin rolling out to both Mac and Windows users in the US starting today. It’s all part of the battle for consumer use of AI-fueled browsers, which OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, and other companies are all fighting to win. Like OpenAI’s ChatGPT Agent, Google is also planning to introduce an ability for Gemini in Chrome…
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC) has issued a formal notice with more details about the five power banks that Anker voluntarily recalled earlier this year. The agency has received 33 reports of incidents involving fires and explosions caused by the power banks, with four of them causing “minor burn injuries” and one resulting in “substantial property damage.” In total about 481,000 Anker power banks are part of the recall. The recalled units are all external batteries that can be used to charge devices like smartphones and tablets when connected with a USB cable, while one also features a wireless…
I’ve always had a soft spot for Mr Jones Watches. Their quirky, story-driven designs are unlike anything else in the watch world – playful, bold, and often a little tongue-in-cheek. The size has always been ideal too, with most models coming in at 37mm, which is perfect for someone like me with slender wrists. But there’s always been one problem: the lugs. Mr Jones’ cases used to have long, overhanging lugs that just didn’t sit right on smaller wrists. On me, they looked awkward – like the watch was trying too hard to cover territory it couldn’t quite manage. And…
One of the many unpublicized changes introduced with the iOS 26 update released earlier this week is that screenshots now automatically open into a full-screen preview. The new approach provides immediate access to a handful of useful tools for editing a screenshot, but they now dominate your iPhone’s screen when captured, instead of shrinking into an unobtrusive thumbnail. Thankfully, reverting to the old way iOS handled screenshots is easy, as spotted by 9To5Mac.Open your iPhone’s Settings app and then navigate to General > Screen Capture. There you’ll find a Full-Screen Previews toggle at the top of the page you can…
On Wednesday, Google announced a partnership with StopNCII.org to combat the spread of non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII), the company announced today. Over the next few months, Google will start using StopNCII’s hashes to proactively identify nonconsensual images in search results and remove them. Hashes are algorithmically-generated unique identifiers that allow services to identify and block imagery flagged as abuse without sharing or storing the actual source. StopNII says it uses PDQ for images and MD5 for videos. As Bloomberg points out, Google has been called out for being slower than others in the industry to take this approach and its blog…

Valve has announced that it will stop supporting 32-bit versions of Windows for its Steam app next year. Valve will continue to support 64-bit versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11 with Steam, but on January 1st 2026 it’s game over for 32-bit versions of Windows.Windows 10 is the only 32-bit version of Windows that’s still currently supported by Steam. Introduction It turns out last year’s ‘definitive article’ Nothing Ear wasn’t quite so definitive. Company co-founder Carl Pei admitted ditching the number from its flagship wireless earbuds wasn’t the smartest move, and has brought it back for the new generation – but shouldn’t these then be Ear 4? Semantics aside, the Nothing Ear 3 brings larger dynamic drivers, spatial sound and a new-found love of metal to the table. It also one-ups the Nothing Ear with an uprated microphone built into the charging case, promising higher quality calls and voice recordings. Oh, and yet another way to integrate Nothing’s AI-infused…
Nvidia is throwing Intel a $5 billion life raft, just weeks after similar stakes from the US government and SoftBank. Nvidia is investing $5 billion in Intel common stock in a collaboration that will see the pair “jointly develop multiple generations of custom data center and PC products.”Nvidia says Intel will help build “x86 system-on-chips (SoCs) that integrate Nvidia RTX GPU chiplets.” These chips will power a “wide range” of PCs, by closely integrating Intel’s CPUs with Nvidia’s GPUs. Intel and Nvidia already have a close partnership on many gaming laptops, but combining both on a single SoC is a…
Tablets have become go-to gadgets for a lot of people, sitting neatly between a phone and a laptop. The good news? You don’t need to splash out on a flagship model to get something worthwhile. Today’s budget tablets pack in sharp screens, solid performance, and plenty of features for far less money. Whether you’re after a device for streaming, gaming on the go, reading, or light work, there’s a wallet-friendly option out there. It wasn’t always like this. Early budget tablets often felt like a compromise – slow processors, flimsy builds, and a bare-bones app selection. But things have moved…
I know you’re not supposed to wear sunglasses indoors, but I did when I visited Meta a few weeks ago to check out the tech giant’s latest smart glasses. Meta’s Connect event gave us a proper glimpse at the next generation of wearables for your face, with a slew of updates to its Ray-Ban Meta range, and a couple of new additions to the Oakley family. While I tried the new Oakley x Meta Vanguard sunglasses – and they’re genuinely impressive – it’s the new display-enabled Ray-Bans I’m left dreaming about. Let’s start with the Vanguards, since I actually got…
