Poor Siri. While ChatGPT, Gemini, and seemingly every AI startup on the planet have spent the last few years showing off increasingly impressive tricks, Apple’s voice assistant has largely remained the same iPhone and iPad tool many of us have been using for the better part of a decade. Sure, it could set timers, start playlists, send messages, and occasionally answer a question or two, but nobody was seriously putting Siri in the same conversation as modern AI assistants. That became a problem for Apple. And the answer, it turns out, wasn’t a mere feature patch. Instead, Apple has spent…
The state of Florida is suing TikTok over claims the company isn’t complying with the state’s child safety law, which bans kids under 14 from creating social media accounts, as reported earlier by Reuters. The lawsuit, filed on Monday, alleges that TikTok still allows 13-year-olds in Florida to use the platform and is “actively deceiving” parents about its risks. When reached for comment, TikTok US spokesperson Jamie Favazza says the company has been engaging constructively and in good faith with Florida’s attorney general, adding that the platform “notified users under 14 in Florida that their accounts will be suspended.”In addition to…
If you had asked me a week ago to recommend a thinner alternative to PopSockets’ magnetic phone grips, I would have told you to buy the OhSnap Snap Grip 5. Ask me now and I’ll redirect you right back to the company that accidentally invented the phone grip in 2012 when trying to come up with a better way to wrangle Apple EarPods. PopSockets’ new Low-Pro is its slimmest phone grip yet, and it’s not only thinner than OhSnap’s latest, it’s also more functional and more comfortable to hold.Available starting today exclusively through Apple in four colors (it will be…
Could this be the most cycling-obsessed timepiece ever made? Swedish watchmaker Bravur and indoor cycling platform Zwift have collaborated on a limited-edition watch that might just beat Tudor’s FXD Chrono for a place in the hearts of bike aficionados. The black lacquered dial carries a texture lifted straight out of Zwift’s volcanic Watopia virtual riding world. There’s a Zwift logo at 12 o’clock, a feather at 3 o’clock (a nod to the in-game lightweight power-up), a watts lightning bolt at 9 o’clock, and a Zwift ‘Ride On’ thumbs up at 6 o’clock. Naturally there’s a liberal use of Zwift’s signature…
Artificial intelligence is here to stay. For most of us our smartphones will be the main way we interact with AI every day – but some brands have done a better job of adopting AI than others. If you’re after the best AI phone to buy in 2026, look no further. I’ve tested the leading AI smartphones from Google, Apple, Samsung and more, to find out which offers the most useful AI features. All incorporate machine learning and large language models in some form or another, but there are clear winners when it comes to live translation, voice transcription, AI…
Most mechanical keyboards are great these days, with colorful looks and satisfying typing sounds — even in budget-friendly ranges. But every so often, one stops me dead in my tracks. In this case, two of them.I’ve been testing a pair of jaw-droppingly lovely keyboards that launched late last year. The Evoworks Evo75, a compact 75-percent layout with loud, low-pitched typing sounds. And the Dry Studio ATM98, an 1800-layout / 98-percent layout with silent switches and a design that’s anything but quiet — complete with an enormous RGB-ified rotary dial. They are easily two of the nicest keyboards I’ve ever seen,…
Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video service is getting in on the Apple Intelligence party to bring more descriptive alerts from your connected cameras and let you search footage using natural language. The Apple Home app is also getting better notifications powered by AI and is finally adding support for energy reporting. These improvements were announced at WWDC last week and will be publicly available this fall. I’ve been playing with some of the features in the developer betas for iOS 27 and tvOS 27 for a few days, and based on my first impressions, Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video is much improved —…
Lenovo announced a new version of its chonky speaker-filled Tab Plus tablet that once again puts a strong focus on audio. While the original Tab Plus launched two years ago with eight built-in speakers requiring a 13.58mm rear bulge to squeeze them all in, the new Tab Plus Gen 2 bumps that to nine speakers with a circular bump on the back that’s now 22.7mm thick. To help justify the thicker addition, the Gen 2’s speaker bump integrates a fold-out kickstand that rotates 360 degrees to support the tablet in portrait and landscape modes.Lenovo hasn’t confirmed exactly where or when…
Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled The Collectibles VI in London — its latest capsule of museum-grade vintage watches, now on display and available to buy. It’s the sixth time JLC has done this, but it’s the first time London has hosted the exhibition. The 12 pieces span from 1931 to 2003 and have been meticulously restored by ten master watchmakers in JLC’s dedicated in-house workshop at its Manufacture in the Vallée de Joux. It’s one of the very few operations of its kind maintained by any watchmaker. Seven of the 12 are Reverso models. The lineup runs from a 1931 original with…
If your average working day involves eight straight hours hunched over a laptop while slowly fusing into your office chair, congratulations: you’re officially living the 21st century dream. Unfortunately, your neck, shoulders, hips and lower back probably disagree. According to the very flexible Camryn Roberts, Pilates instructor at Pure Sports Medicine, sitting itself isn’t necessarily the villain. “Many of us spend eight or more hours a day sitting, but it’s not necessarily the position we’re sitting in that’s the problem — it’s how long we stay there,” she explains. “Regular movement throughout the day can help reduce stiffness, improve circulation…
When Christian Simpson, a retro gaming YouTuber also known as Peri Fractic, bought the remains of an early PC company called Commodore in 2025, he decided to pick up right where the original Commodore left off. Which meant starting product development in the mid-1990s. Simpson and his team first set to work reviving the company’s most iconic product, and you can now buy a Commodore 64 that is the spitting image of the 1982 original (other than the Wi-Fi connectivity, the USB ports, and a few other slightly modern niceties). It’s a pure nostalgia play, and by most accounts a…
Introduction With all the hubbub over RGB mini-LED lately, you could be forgiven for thinking the TV world had fallen out of love with OLED 4K TVs. The arrival of the G6 should put that record straight. LG’s latest high-end set addresses the weak points of its predecessor – namely brightness, colour gradation and light reflections – while adding even more smarts to what’s already one of the best Smart TV systems out there. Sitting below the wireless ‘Wallpaper’ W6 flagship but above the mainstream C6, the G6 is the new sweet spot for film fans and streaming show binge-watchers.…
