Two years after legal proceedings began, the SEC has formally dropped its lawsuit against Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange. It was one of the US government’s final ongoing actions against crypto companies.Lawyers for the SEC and Binance jointly moved to dismiss the case in a filing on Thursday. It follows a 60-day pause requested by both parties in February. The case has been dismissed with prejudice, meaning the SEC can’t pursue it again. “We’re deeply grateful to [SEC] Chairman Paul Atkins and the Trump administration for recognizing that innovation can’t thrive under regulation by enforcement,” Binance told Reuters in…

If you’re eyeing up a new smartphone, the £1000 price that the latest handsets typically come with is somewhat off-putting. That’s where mid-range or budget phones come in. But typically, they sacrifice some features to get that lower price – and battery is usually a big culprit. But this sub-£300 Motorola phone has a bigger battery than any flagship you can buy. The new Moto G86 Power flexes a battery so chunky it makes most flagships look like glorified desk toys. We’re talking a 6720mAh cell under the hood – that’s 53 hours of potential screen time. This isn’t just a big…

There are some questionable sources underpinning Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s controversial “Make America Healthy Again” commission report. Signs point to AI tomfoolery, and the use of ChatGPT specifically, which calls into question the veracity of the White House report meant to address reasons for the decline in US life expectancy. An investigation by NOTUS found dozens of errors in the MAHA report, including broken links, wrong issue numbers, and missing or incorrect authors. Some studies were misstated to back up the report’s conclusions, or more damningly, didn’t exist at all. At least seven of the cited sources were entirely fictitious, according…

Back in 2019, H. Moser & Cie. raised eyebrows with a cheeky idea: make a mechanical watch that looked like an Apple Watch. That piece, called the Swiss Alp Watch, is well worth checking out if you’re a smartwatch fan. It was as much a parody as it was a protest – a reminder that a ticking, handcrafted watches could still hold their own in a world of black screens and constant notifications. But today, the brand isn’t joking anymore… With its new Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition, Moser has gone from mocking the smartwatch to building one of its own.…

Introduction After a week spent behind the wheel of the teensy-weensy Leapmotor T03 city car, I’ve just followed it with seven days in this. The Mazda CX-80 sits at the complete opposite end of the space spectrum, with room for up to seven people to enjoy high levels of comfort. It comes as a plug-in too, so could prove a better option for anyone with a growing family and multiple school run stops than the diesel edition. Mazda’s flagship SUV is certainly a beefy proposition. The downside is its bulk, which needs to be carefully managed in less spacious surroundings…
