The crypto market never closes, so it was fitting President Donald Trump made the announcement on a Sunday: he was going to reward the billionaires who funded his presidential run.“A U.S. Crypto Reserve will elevate this critical industry after years of corrupt attacks by the Biden Administration,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, a social media website that he owns. His brilliant son Eric made a post suggesting that his father’s announcement qualified as market manipulation. Fantastic.I know I’ve been saying this a lot lately, but this is so stupidTrump promised his crypto constituency a “strategic national bitcoin…
Target and Best Buy say Trump’s tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China could raise prices in their stores as soon as this week. During an interview with CNBC, Target CEO Brian Cornell said consumers will “likely see prices increase over the next couple of days,” while Best Buy CEO Corie Barry similarly told investors that more expensive prices are “highly likely.”Cornell told CNBC that half of Target’s goods come from the United States, but the company depends on Mexico for “a significant amount” of fruits and vegetables during winter, potentially leading to more expensive strawberries, bananas, and avocados. “Those are…
Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5070 Founders Edition cards won’t launch alongside other 5070s. Reviews of the new $549 graphics card just dropped today, but in an email to The Verge, Nvidia GeForce global PR director Ben Berraondo says the RTX 5070 Founders Edition will be available “later in March.”Berraondo shared the following manufacturers that will have 5070 cards at MSRP cost available from March 5th: Asus, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, Gigabyte, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY, and Zotac. When Nvidia announced the 5070, the company said that it would offer similar performance to the $1,599 RTX 4090, but our testing doesn’t align with…
YouTube is warning creators about a new phishing scam that attempts to lure victims using an AI-generated video of its CEO Neal Mohan. The fake video has been shared privately with users and claims YouTube is making changes to its monetization policy in an attempt to steal their credentials, according to an announcement on Tuesday.“YouTube and its employees will never attempt to contact you or share information through a private video,” YouTube says. “If a video is shared privately with you claiming to be from YouTube, the video is a phishing scam.”In recent weeks, there have been reports floating around…
As predicted, Apple announced not one but two new iPads this week. The new entry-level iPad starts at $349, while the 11-and 13-inch iPad Airs start at $599 and $799, respectively. Both tablets are set to arrive on March 12th, though you can preorder them from Apple and Best Buy starting today, March 4th.Unsurprisingly, both tablets represent pretty minor upgrades over prior models. The 11th-gen iPad has twice as much base storage as its last-gen predecessor (128GB vs. 64GB); however, it also remains the only tablet in Apple’s current lineup that lacks support for Apple Intelligence. It doesn’t run on…

YouTube is tightening its policies on gambling content. The platform has announced that it will soon prohibit creators from verbally referring to gambling services not approved by Google, as well as displaying their logos and linking to them in videos. The new rules, which go into effect on March 19th, may also put age restrictions on videos about online gambling. Breitling has just given its legendary Navitimer a serious upgrade, and the result might be my favourite Navitimer model yet. The new Navitimer B19 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph takes everything that made this iconic watch great and enhances it with a first for Breitling – a perpetual calendar movement in a steel watch. For over 70 years, the Navitimer has been synonymous with aviation, precision, and unmistakable style. Originally designed in 1952 for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), it quickly evolved from a functional tool-watch into a global status symbol. Now, Breitling is turning the model into a showcase…

More time has passed since the arrival of the Sony PlayStation 2 as between the PS2’s debut and the Atari 2600. Which might make you feel horribly old. Still, while you’re mulling over your own mortality, you can at least spare a moment to remember how great Sony’s giant (in every sense) of a console was. Yeah, but sequels are never as good as the originals, are they? Oh, this one was. The original PlayStation redefined home gaming, but five years later Sony unleashed another revolution. The new console’s guts packed serious clout, enabling game makers to sculpt breathtaking efforts:…
Yesterday morning, billionaire Los Angeles Times owner Patrick Soon-Shiong published a letter to readers letting them know the outlet is now using AI to add a “Voices” label to articles that take “a stance” or are “written from a personal perspective.” He said those articles may also get a set of AI-generated “Insights,” which appear at the bottom as bullet points, including some labeled, “Different views on the topic.”“Voices is not strictly limited to Opinion section content,” writes Soon-Shiong, ”It also includes news commentary, criticism, reviews, and more. If a piece takes a stance or is written from a personal…
While Apple’s roll-out of Apple Intelligence is a bit messy, the brand has made it clear that this is its focus. So wouldn’t it be odd for a new refresh of one of its most popular products to exclude the AI feature? That’s exactly what happened with the new iPad (A16) – an update to the base model iPad for $349/£329. Without as much fanfare as the iPad Air (M3), Apple also updated the entry-level iPad. This refresh swaps in the A16 Bionic chip and doubles the base storage. If you’re someone who just wants a no-nonsense tablet for browsing,…
