Swiss watchmaker Certina has just made its DS Action Diver collection a whole lot more interesting. Three new 38mm titanium watches have landed in flamingo pink, turquoise, and orange – and they’re genuinely striking.
The model these new watches are based on are already fantastic – the 38mm DS Action Diver is one of the most under-rated dive watches around.
The entire case and bracelet are crafted from Grade 2 titanium, making them remarkably light on the wrist, so you get serious dive watch credentials without the weight.
The specs are exactly what you’d expect from a professional tool watch. Each model is water-resistant to 300 metres, ISO 6425:2018 certified, and powered by the Powermatic 80 movement with an 80-hour power reserve. It’s a lot of watch for the money (which we’ll get onto later).
Certina has also added its new DS Concept Extreme Shock Resistance technology, which includes sapphire crystal, an O-ring seal on the setting stem, a reinforced case back, an ultra-thin seal dial support, and a screwed movement holder.
A scratch-proof ceramic bezel, anti-reflective coating on the crystal, and a screw-lock crown complete the package.
Now, onto the colours, which are the real stars here. The colour comes from vibrant Super-LumiNova hands and hour markers. The flamingo pink version pairs them against a black lacquered dial, turquoise sits on a grey dial, while the orange model contrasts sharply against a deep ocean-blue dial and bezel.
I’ve seen all of these watches in person, and my favourite is the blue and orange model. It’s really vibrant and ideal for summer (I love any watch that combines orange and blue).
At 38mm, these sit in a very wearable sweet spot, too. They’ll suit smaller wrists but won’t look out of place on anyone.
The colourful DS Action Diver collection is available now on Certina’s website, priced at £925 in the UK (approx. $1260 in the US).
