If your search for the best wireless earbuds led you to becoming a Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 or 4 Pro owner, you’ll be pleased to hear that their first free Samsung update is on the way.

According to details from Samsung’s latest firmware update, it’s focused on improving stability and overall reliability for both sets of wireless buds.

The update is reportedly landing as a relatively small download – Samsung hasn’t published a detailed changelog, beyond “stability improvements”.

Reading between the lines, updates like this tend to focus on ironing out minor bugs and improving connection stability, rather than adding new features – though Samsung hasn’t specified exactly what’s been addressed in this case.

If you’ve already picked up a pair of Galaxy Buds 4 or Buds 4 Pro, it’s worth checking the Galaxy Wearable app to see if the update is ready for your pair. The rollout is likely happening in stages, starting off with South Korea, so it might not hit every device at once.

As for our review of the Buds 4, we found them to offer energetic, highly detailed sound, and a good choice for Samsung fans wanting to go all-in on the company’s ecosystem. We’d have liked to see battery life improvements compared to the last-gen models, mind.

There’s a chance this update could make them more efficient, though that’s just speculation for now. Either way, keep an eye out for an update in the near future.
