Hamilton is adding to its impressive list of Hollywood cameos and it doesn’t get much bigger than this – Steven Spielberg’s new sci-thriller Disclosure Day.

If Hamilton had a IMDB page listing all the films its watches had appeared in, it would rival the biggest movie stars around – you’ve got Interstellar, Tenet, Dune, Men in Black, Oceans Eleven, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Oppenheimer, James Bond: Live and Let Die… The list goes on and on.

In fact, Hamilton has appeared in over 500 movies and TV shows now, and this one adds serious weight to that number.

Disclosure Day is described as a race-against-time story about whether a massive truth should be revealed to the world. Given that the whole film is built around time and a deadline, putting Hamilton on the wrists of the lead characters seems like a smart move to me.

Two watches appear on screen.

First, Josh O’Connor’s character, a scientist named Dr. Daniel Kellner, wears the Khaki Field Mechanical (pictured above).

It’s a no-nonsense, hand-wound field watch in black PVD. Very down to earth and purposeful. It suits the character perfectly.

The second is the Jazzmaster Open Heart (pictured below), worn by a character called Noah Scanlon. The open dial exposes the movement beneath, which, according to the press release, mirrors someone who understands how systems work from the inside out.

What’s nice here is that neither watch feels random. The film’s costume designers have clearly put thought into the pairings, and that’s what separates a good placement from a forgettable one.

Both watches are available now. The Khaki Field Mechanical 38mm starts at $745 / £615. The Jazzmaster Open Heart 40mm is $1,245 / £990.

Disclosure Day is in theaters June 12.
