If you were paying attention to real sports on TV a few months back, you’ll have seen Jason Sudeikis rocking up at the soccer (football) and the darts before Christmas. And that’s because he was in the UK donning the moustache and visor once again as the titular Ted Lasso, once again coming to Apple’s streaming service.

Now we know when in 2026 the show will return to Apple TV following an incredibly successful three seasons with Lasso at the helm of AFC Richmond – the new season will start showing on 5 August.

The new season will see wih a host of new cast members, with the next season focusing on the formation of a women’s team at Richmond. Tanya Reynolds, Faye Marsay, Abbie Hern, Jude Mack, Rex Hayes and Aisling Sharkey are among the cast members enlisted for the team.

The official blurb is this: “Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”

We had a strong rumor last year that summer 2026 would be when the new season was going to air from the boss at Warner Bros. TV no less.

Channing Dungey, speaking to Variety about a number of ongoing projects:

“Can you believe we are back in production? This was one of those ones where I was like, ‘I don’t know if we were going to get there,’ but we are here now,” the cheque signer says. “I’m really excited about the new cast. We don’t have a firm date yet from Apple. We’re talking right now about mid-year next year, so your guess is as good as mine as to what that actually means. But I would say sometime from Q2 forward.”

Screw the FIFA World Cup. This is the footballing event of the summer.

Are you looking forward to Ted Lasso Season 4? Or has the magic passed now?
