The best iPhones have donned various colours over the years, and new leaks suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro could arrive in one of the most eye-catching shades yet.

According to a report from Macworld, Apple has been working on a Dark Cherry shade as the signature colour for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. It’s described as more of a rich, wine-like tone than a bright red – but still distinctive enough to stand out as the hero option in the lineup.

If true, it matches up with previous reports of a rumoured deep red finish for the iPhone 18 Pro, and follows Apple’s recent trend of introducing a standout Pro colour each year.

The iPhone 17 Pro’s Cosmic Orange is expected to be dropped this time around in favour of the new Dark Cherry finish, while the rest of the rumoured colours are more familiar – Light Blue, Dark Grey, and Silver.

These colours are still reportedly in development, and the phone hasn’t entered mass production yet, so Apple could still tweak or drop one before launch. That’s happened before, with some previously tested finishes never making it to store shelves.

Design-wise, it doesn’t sound like a major overhaul. CAD files seen by Macworld’s source suggest that the overall look will stay very close to the current model, with only minor changes. The most notable could be a smaller Dynamic Island, which would free up a bit more screen space.

There are also hints of subtle refinements around the camera area on the back, although it’s not clear if those will stick. Either way, this looks like another incremental update rather than a full redesign.

The same leak also points to Apple’s rumoured foldable iPhone, expected to be announced alongside the Pro models, which could come in more muted finishes like silver, white, and a dark indigo.
