Phones and tablets mightn’t be the only foldable devices coming for your wallets this year; the humble PC mouse might be getting a hinged design.
Images unearthed by WinFuture appear to show Logitech is building a foldable mouse that’s so dainty it’ll fit inside a shirt pocket. The device doesn’t look all that dissimilar to the Surface Arc mouse made by Microsoft or the Lenovo Yoga mouse. This one offers the option to be folded flat like a clamshell, a little bit like Motorola’s Razr phones. Only much, much smaller.
According to the images published today, the device is ergonomically superior and caused “22 per cent less muscle strain” compared to the laptop trackpad. So, if you don’t carry a mouse due to awkward space concerns, Lenovo appears to be pitching this as a solution.
The report reveals the presence of an “adaptive touch scrolling area” that sits between the two mouse buttons, and it’s compatible with both left and right-handed users, as well as those using “multiple operating systems”. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth. The design is said to pair with the dinky Keys-To-Go keyboard that’s sold separately.
There’s no word yet on when Logitech will officially announce the accessory, the price or the official specs – like whether that reduced size can still facilitate meaningful battery life. Given the leak offers some good-to-go marketing materials, it probably won’t be too long.
