WiiM’s first Atmos soundbar is a bigger Sonos Beam 2 rival with one unique feature

Multi-room speaker specialist WiiM is gearing up to make the jump into home cinema territory. The firm has just revealed its first ever soundbar at the High End Vienna show, with one key feature being carried over from its distinctive WiiM Sound smart speaker.

The 1.06m WiiM Bar will be right at home under a 55in TV and won’t look out of place beneath a larger 65in set, unlike the rival Sonos Beam Gen 2. The Sonos doesn’t have a funky circular touchscreen sitting front and centre, either: the colour display can show album art as well as handle playback, source switching and EQ toggles with swipes and taps, without having to reach for your phone or the included remote control. You can also pick from a handful of clock faces and static screens to show while in standby mode too.

Gimmicky? Maybe. But there’s no denying the WiiM Bar’s audio chops. The 8-channel soundbar has three front mid-woofers, three front tweeters, four passive bass radiators and dedicated top-firing height drivers, for a native 3.0.2 Dolby Atmos setup. Naturally existing WiiM owners can then use their WiiM Sound and Sound Lite speakers – and add a WiiM Subwoofer – to step up to a complete 5.1.2 home cinema.

The firm’s own RoomFit auto-correction adapts the tuning to suit your space, no matter how many speakers you’ve got in the mix. There are also dedicated modes for quiet listening at night and for boosting speech clarity – handy if you feel like every streaming show sounds like a mumblecore indie production through your TV speakers alone.

Given WiiM’s background the Bar should be just as focused on music as film. The company is promising a wide soundstage and extra-clear vocal detail, along with fine-grain control over equaliser presets.

The Bar is as well connected as the rest of WiiM’s speaker lineup, with Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect all on board. It’s also Roon-ready, with a choice of Wi-Fi 6E or Ethernet networking. There’s also Bluetooth LE for direct playback. HDMI eARC and digital optical ports cover the wired hookup options for your TV.

The WiiM Bar is up for pre-order now, directly from the Wiimhome website, for £479/£449/€499. It’ll be launching first in a special gloss black edition from July; matte black and white versions that match WiiM’s existing speaker lineup will follow later in 2026.
