Apple has released the first iOS 27.2 beta for iPhone, despite the fact iOS 27 was only launched on Monday and there’s been no sign of iOS 27.1 yet either. The release promises to be significant as, right now, first iOS 27.2 developer beta includes a new Health app powered by Apple Intelligence.
The app was confirmed last week during the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo keynote and is already available for developers to take for a spin.
During the keynote Apple said the app had been “redesigned to dynamically respond to a user’s data using Apple Intelligence, with a new Insights tab that surfaces timely health information and a new Longevity tab that analyzes a user’s longitudinal health data for deeper insights. The Longevity tab includes Health Age, an Apple Watch feature that shows users how certain metrics are tracking relative to their actual age. The Health app also includes movement evaluations that measure flexibility, strength, balance, and more using vision-based AI models on iPhone and heart rate data from Apple Watch.”
The app promises tabs for Insights promising news on things like sleep and Vo2 Max, while Personal Guidance will make suggestions depending on your training goals. The Readiness tab derives from the Apple Watch app and will advise wearers to Recover, Pace Yourself, that they’re Ready, or to Go For It. You’ll probably need an Apple Watch for this and some of the other features too. It’s unclear whether the app will interact as well with third-party trackers for sections like Fitness, Vitals, Longevity and Health Age too..
Elsewhere in the iOS 27.2 beta is the expansion of Siri AI for new languages – French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. As Apple has previously said the languages will be available in October, we can assume that’s when we’ll see iOS 27.2.
As for iOS 27.1? Well that’ll ship with iOS 27.1 out of the box. As MacRumors suggests, Apple may be keeping that OS under wraps for now.
