Google has confirmed a Made by Google hardware launch event on August 12, which will almost certainly see the launch of new Pixel phones and smartwatches.
The company is promising to introduce the “next generation of people” at the in-person event in New York, which is now five weeks away. The invite also reveals a new gold frame, that’ll presumably be a new colourway for the Pixel range.
Google is on course to Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, to succeed the quartet of phones launched in 2025. They’ll be the first Google phones to launch with Android 17 out of the box. We’ll probably see a next-generation Pixel Watch 5 and probably some Pixel Buds Pro as well.
The Made by Google 2026 event will also be live streamed also and will kick off at 6:00pm local time. That’s a bit of a nuisance for UK fans, who won’t see the meet of the announcements until after 11pm British Summer Time.
Not too much about the phones themselves may change, but we are expecting higher prices for the Pixel 11 range. A leak from Dealabs suggests Google will also drop the 128GB storage version.
It means that, in the UK, the cheapest Pixel 11 256GB will cost £879. Considering the Pixel 10 128GB cost £799 when it arrived last September that’s not too bad an increase in starting price, all things considered. It would actually be £20 cheaper than last year’s Pixel 10 256GB, which cost £899. That trend continues throughout the range too, according to today’s reports.
Previous reports have suggested Google may also trim down the RAM in some devices in order to minimise any price increases caused by the memory shortage.
