I’m not a celebrity stalker. But, thanks to long-lensed paparazzi and the way baristas helpfully write your order on the cup, celebrity coffee orders are no secret.

So, I’ve relied on other reporters to tell me what the A-listers drink. My job is simply to teach you how to make their favourite brews brilliantly at home (with one of the best coffee machines, naturally).

So, without further ado, it’s time to start sipping like celeb…

Zendaya: iced matcha tea latte with coconut milk.

In a since-deleted, viral 2022 tweet, a Starbucks employee revealed that Euphoria and Dune star Zendaya’s order was a venti iced matcha tea latte with coconut milk.

How to make Zendaya’s tea at home:

  1. Put 4g of matcha powder in a mug or bowl.
  2. Add a small amount of hot water (70-80°C ideal) to form a paste.
  3. Whisk furiously. Ideally with a chasen (traditional bamboo matcha whisk) but a fork will do.
  4. Fill a clear cup with ice.
  5. Half fill with coconut milk (tinned is creamier but carton is ok).
  6. Add the foamy matcha mix on top, it will soon cool down.
  7. Optionally sweeten with maple syrup.
  8. Keep the drink in layers (green over white) or mix it all together for a green drink.

Harry Styles: iced sunshine espresso

He may be known for ‘Watermelon Sugar’ but when Harry Styles recently started frequenting Bedford bakery SAY Doughnuts he taught the owner a new recipe: sunshine espresso. It’s so good, they added it to the menu.

Harry started with iced espresso, then suggested adding the orange juice, saying it was “sensational”.

Sunshine espresso is a coffee shot with a splash of orange juice. That’s how Styles prefers it, but recipes can also include honey for extra sweetness.

How to make Harry Styles’ coffee at home:

  1. Make an espresso, with a machine or manually. For example, with the OXO Rapid Brewer.
  2. Fill a clear cup with ice.
  3. Half fill with orange juice.
  4. Then pour the espresso over the top for a beautiful, layered drink.

Ariana Grande: soy latte

Even I’ve heard of Ariana Grande. She was in Wicked and she sings. When she sang with James Corden on Carpool Karaoke, he gave her a piggyback into a Starbucks, where she ordered a soy latte. What size? Grande of course!

How to make Ariana Grande’s coffee at home:

  1. Make a double shot of espresso.
  2. Steam warm (55°C) soy milk – cartons marked ‘barista’ are best for foaming.
  3. As with any latte, pour the hot milk over your espresso, then spoon a small amount of foam on top.
  4. Or let a machine do it all for you. When I tested bean-to-cup coffee makers, my favourite was the De’Longhi PrimaDonna Aromatic, which can make hot and cold lattes, with dairy or plant-based milks.

Pedro Pascal: iced espresso

When The Last of Us and The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal appeared on TikTok signing an autograph, eagle-eyed followers spied his coffee order and it went viral. Starbucks calls anything with four or more shots a quad… and this iced quad espresso contained six shots. Wow, that’s a lot of caffeine.

How to make Pedro Pascal’s coffee at home:

  1. Start with a large cup, like Pascal.
  2. Use a coffee machine that makes double espressos. A bean-to-cup machine is ideal for making several in quick succession.
  3. Fill your cup with ice and make three double espressos in a row over the ice.
  4. Alternatively use a stove-top moka pot. These don’t make true espresso but it’s close and with a large moka pot you can make enough in one go.

Taylor Swift: caramel non-fat latte

The singer teamed up with Starbucks, at the time of releasing her re-recorded album Red (Taylor’s Version), so fans could simply order Taylor’s Latte or Taylor’s Version to get her favourite: a grande caramel non-fat latte.

  1. A latte is espresso plus steamed milk. I’d always use a good machine to make the latte. They’re pricey… but then so are specialty coffees, so good machines pay for themselves in time. When I tested bean-to-cup coffee makers, my favourite was the De’Longhi PrimaDonna Aromatic, which can make hot and cold lattes.
  2. The non-fat in the order refers to the milk. In England, that means skimmed milk, in the US it’s called 0%.
  3. Starbucks uses Fontana syrups, which you can’t buy in the UK. But Monin is the go-to brand for coffee syrups and I think Swift would like Monin Caramel Sugar Free Syrup.

There you have it, a few of your favourite celebrities and their favourite drinks. Got any other you’d like us to cover? Let us know on social media.
