Norqain has hidden a free holiday inside one of these 500 limited edition watches

Imagine buying a watch and getting a free holiday thrown in. That’s exactly what’s going to happen to one very lucky Norqain customer.

Norqain has just launched the Freedom GMT Enjoy Life “Holiday” Limited Edition. It’s a run of 500 watches, but one of them is hiding a secret…

Somewhere is a hidden “Golden Ticket”. Whoever ends up with it will win a week-long trip for two to the Ayada Maldives, a swanky overwater resort in the Indian Ocean.

I love this idea. It’s basically Willy Wonka for watch nerds, and it turns an already fun limited edition into something genuinely exciting to own and buy.

The prize itself is properly generous too. Six nights in an Ocean Villa, full board, breakfast, lunch and dinner all included.

Here’s the twist, though: nobody will know who’s won until September. Norqain is keeping the reveal method under wraps for now.

As for the watch itself, it looks great as well. Norqain was one of my stands outs at Watches and Wonders this year, and it shows no sign of slowing down.

The Freedom GMT is the first Enjoy Life piece to get a GMT function, and the dial is a riot of orange, pink and turquoise, arranged in a colourful world map.

Scattered across the dial, GMT bezel and date window are 24 hand-drawn “Holiday Icons” – flip-flops, sunglasses, a beach umbrella, even a cocktail glass sitting next to the words “Happy Hour” between 4pm and 6pm. It’s playful stuff, just like Christopher Ward and Second/Seconde’s recent Pool Diver.

Under the hood is Norqain’s in-house NN20/2 calibre, made with Kenissi. It’s chronometer-certified, has a 70-hour power reserve you can watch tick down through the sapphire caseback, and the GMT hand jumps forward or back an hour at a time from the crown.

The case is 40mm stainless steel, and you get a choice of steel bracelet or white rubber strap. Each one is stamped “One of 500” on the back.

Norqain’s founder Ben Küffer says the brand wanted to create something that goes beyond just a watch, and honestly, I think they’ve pulled it off.

The watch even ships in a bespoke aluminium travel case, complete with a passport holder, a world map insert, and a tin of pins so you can mark off the places you still want to visit.

The Freedom GMT Enjoy Life “Holiday” is available now through Norqain’s website. It’s priced at $6490 in the US and £4885 in the UK.
