TAG Heuer and Team Ikuzawa are back together, and have just launched the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa watch. It’s a follow-up to their 2023 collaboration, and it’s every bit as cool as the previous one.
It’s a limited edition run of 150 pieces, with each one individually numbered.
The new model takes TAG Heuer’s 39mm Carrera Glassbox, and reinterprets it, inspired by the Heuer Roadmaster stopwatch.
George Bamford and Mai Ikuzawa are the creative force behind it. Bamford runs Bamford Watch Department, and he’s known for putting his own spin on classic designs, while Ikuzawa is Team Principal and Creative Director of Team Ikuzawa, the Japanese racing team her family founded back in 1981.
The watch is heavily inspired by motorsport nostalgia.
The dial is white with a Clou de Paris texture, and red accents run through the hour and minute hands, the chronograph seconds hand, and even the date disc.
There’s no running seconds display, mimicking old TAG Heuer chronographs from the 60s and 70s, when dial space was often handed over to sponsors and racing teams.
The “Team Ikuzawa” signature sits proudly at six o’clock. It’s a really cool touch.
Now, I’m a sucker for a good watch box, and this is one of the best I’ve seen in a while. It’s shaped like a toolbox, styled after the ones you’d find in a racing workshop or pit garage.
Inside, you get the watch on its steel bracelet, plus two additional straps – a perforated white leather strap with red stitching (styled after racing gloves), and a red and white textile strap that nods to Team Ikuzawa’s old livery.
There’s also a travel pouch and a set of Team Ikuzawa charms for your keys.
Flip the watch over and you’ll find dedicated engravings for both Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department, plus the all-important limited edition number.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa is available now, priced at $10,500 in the US and £8850 in the UK.
