Amazon Prime Day has revealed some heavy discounts on Apple’s ultra-slim iPhone Air, turning it into one of the standout deals we’ve seen this week.
In the US, carrier deals from the likes of T-Mobile can net you the phone for free with an unlimited plan, but even unlocked buyers are getting a solid saving – around $160 off, bringing the price down to $839 at retailers such as Best Buy, though not from Amazon US.
In the UK, the 256GB entry model has dropped to a record-low £719 (from £999), while the 512GB version is down to £919 and £1071 for the 1TB version – over 20 percent off.
It’s a rare level of discounting for a flagship packing Apple’s A19 Pro chip and 12GB of RAM, making this an ideal moment to upgrade if you’re after top-tier performance and Siri AI smarts without stepping up to a bulkier Pro Max handset.
It seems that Apple is planning a follow-up to the 2025 iPhone Air, despite reports of the slim and light smartphone being a rare commercial failure.
In my iPhone Air review last year, I was impressed with the stunning new design but said that “while the meagre battery life can be overcome most of the time (not least with Apple’s own MagSafe battery pack), the lack of extra camera tech cannot be rectified – next to the Pro, I found that a compromise too far. I really miss the ultrawide – much more so than I’d have thought I would – while the 2x telephoto is limited.”
Sources report that the second-generation iPhone Air model will probably launch in the spring of 2027, likely alongside the base iPhone 18 that’s said to be launching as part of a split autumn/spring release schedule. The revised device will likely have a second camera – surely it will enjoy a longer battery life, too?
