Rolex has unveiled four one-off Cosmograph Daytona watches and they are heading to auction later this month.
The watches will be sold by Phillips in London on 28 September 2026, and the proceeds are split between two charities: the Federer Foundation and Re:wild.
The Federer Foundation, as the name suggests, is set up by tennis legend Roger Federer, and focuses on early childhood education in Southern Africa and Switzerland.
Re:wild, co-founded by Leonardo DiCaprio, works on protecting wild ecosystems around the world.
These are arguable Rolex’s two most prominent ambassadors, and the missions of these two organisations – supporting future generations and protecting nature – resonate directly with Rolex’s vision for a more sustainable planet.
“True excellence is measured not only by the quality of our products, but also by the positive impact we can have on the world,” says Jean-Frédéric Dufour, CEO of Rolex.
Whispers of the “Four Seasons” set first started at Watches and Wonders earlier this year. It was originally destined for a single collector at a price of roughly CHF 4 million.
Now, instead, the four watches are being split up and sold individually.
Design-wise, these watches are far from the restrained watches you might expect from Rolex. Each Daytona represents a season, using a different mix of colours, stones and finishes.
Spring
‘Spring’ is crafted in 18 ct white gold, with 54 brilliant-cut diamonds on the lugs and crown guard. The bezel carries 36 trapeze-cut purple sapphires, and the dial is cut from chrysoprase with lepidolite counters.
Hour markers use baguette and square-cut purple sapphires. It’s fresh, pastel and very pretty.
Summer
‘Summer’ is crafted from 18 ct Everose gold, and swaps the bezel gems for 36 trapeze-cut pink sapphires. The dial is turquoise, with counters cut from a heart of ruby.
Hour markers repeat the pink sapphire from the bezel. It’s the boldest, warmest watch of the four.
Autumn
‘Autumn’ might be my favourite watch of the four. It comes in 18 ct yellow gold, with a bezel of 36 trapeze-cut green tourmalines.
The dial is mookaite, paired with chrysoprase counters, and the hour markers use more green tourmaline. It’s earthy and bright, exactly as an “autumn” watch should be.
Winter
Finally with have ‘Winter’ housed in 950 platinum with a bezel gradient that shifts from blue through to fuchsia across 36 trapeze-cut sapphires.
The dial is blue opal, with lapis lazuli counters, and the hour markers switch to diamonds instead of coloured stones. It’s the coolest and, I think most interesting of the set.
The exclusivity of these pieces, combined with the charitable angle, is going to make them incredibly desirable to collectors. I can see the bidding getting very fierce.
No individual lot estimates have been confirmed yet.
The sale takes place in London on Monday, 28 September 2026, with Phillips running proceedings.
